Your First Appointment

1

Health History & Intake

Plan on about 45–60 minutes for your first visit. Dr. Nance will sit down with you and go through your full health history — what brings you in, how long you've had the problem, what makes it better or worse, and any prior treatment you've received. There is no rushing through this part.

2

Physical Examination

Dr. Nance performs an orthopedic and neurological examination, including range-of-motion testing, postural analysis, and specific orthopedic tests to identify the source of your problem. If you've had recent X-rays or MRI, bring the films or reports — he will review them.

3

Report of Findings

After the exam, Dr. Nance will explain exactly what he found, what he can help with, and what your care plan looks like. If your condition is outside the scope of chiropractic, he will tell you and give you a referral. You will always know what to expect.

4

First Treatment

Most patients receive their first adjustment at the initial visit. If your condition requires a more conservative start — due to a recent injury, severe inflammation, or specific health factors — Dr. Nance will explain why and what the initial treatment will look like instead.

What to Bring

  • Photo ID and insurance card (if applicable)
  • Any X-rays, MRI reports, or prior treatment records
  • A list of current medications
  • Comfortable, loose clothing you can move in
  • Arrive 10 minutes early to complete intake paperwork

Insurance

We accept most major insurance plans, including many PPO and HMO plans that include chiropractic benefits. We will verify your coverage before your first appointment so you know exactly what to expect cost-wise.

We also see patients on a cash-pay basis. Call our office to discuss rates. We keep our fees straightforward.

For auto accident injuries, we can work with your auto insurance PIP (personal injury protection) coverage. If you have been in an accident, call us and we will walk you through the process.

Tarleton State University Student Discount

We offer a discount for currently enrolled Tarleton State University students. Just bring your valid student ID to your first appointment. This applies to both chiropractic care and other services offered at the clinic.

Student-athletes, intramural players, and anyone dealing with a sports or activity-related injury are especially encouraged to call. Dr. Nance has significant experience with athletic injuries and understands the pressures of working around a training or competition schedule.
